Eloise's Photo Shoot & Excellent Weight Gain

In today's world you usually don't see "photo shoot" and "excellent weight gain" together in the same sentence. Eloise is breaking all boundaries though :)

Eloise's first photo shoot was on wednesday at our house. She was awake and alert the ENTIRE time. I thought some sleeping photos would be cute but she was really into the camera and would not take a nap. At least she wasn't crying the entire time! I clicked on the photographer's blog today and was ecstatic to see she had already posted some of Eloise's photos! Sally Gruman is the photographer and from what I've seen so far, she did an amazing job. She is also a mom so she had no problem waiting through two breaks for nursing. Check out the photos!!

Onto the weight gain...Today a home nurse stopped by to follow up on how mom and baby are doing. I have been feeling like a cow with all of the feeding I've been doing but it has paid off. The goal is for newborns to return to their birth weight within 2 weeks. Ellie weighed 6lb 12oz at birth and 6lbs 7oz when we left the hospital on saturday. Today, five days later, she weighs a whopping 7lbs 2oz!!! You grow girl! Okay, that line was cheesy and I'm blaming it on sleep deprivation.

Going to try to remedy corny lines by taking a nap now. Thanks to my wonderful mom who did all of our laundry today, made us dinner, and cleaned the bathrooms, I can rest a little easier!!
